Kallirachi (translates as 'Good Ridge') was founded in the mid 18th century after pirates destroyed the old village (Kakirachi - 'Bad Ridge') and is located 2.5 km's from the sea village of Skala Kallirachi. Kallirachi has magnificient views down to the sea and across to the city of Kavala. 15 km's north west of Limenaria and 11 km's south of Prinos. Explore the winding, narrow streets of the mountain village and get lost in another era, visit the folklore museum which is housed in a restored building from 1880 and learn the history of the village.
Skala Kallirachi with it's wonderful, uncrowded beach is a treat for those seeking solitude and the chance to enjoy some treats at one of the seaside tavernas. Accommodation is mainly studios, apartments and rooms in this area.
